Longford motor racing was the biggest event ever held on Tasmanian soil. Every Formula One world champion of the 1960s came to Longford to race, as well as some of the fastest motorcycle racers on the planet.
Kearney grew up at Longford and witnessed many of the definitive moments. More than fifty years later, he wonders at how a little town at the bottom of the world came attract every Formula One world champion of the 1960s. For drivers, motorcycle and sidecar racers around Australia and overseas, this was the biggest event of their lives.
